Slide's left side reads as "P38 AC (Walther manufacturer code) 42 (year) 433e", right side shows Nazi Eagle & Waffenamt 359 stamps. Frame, trigger, hammer, locking block, and 1 of the 2 magazines shows Waffenamt markings aswell. Comes with an authentic P38 soft shell holster that reads "WaA 163 - CWW 1942".
This 1942 Walther P38 is a complete with all it's stamping and numbers matching, imported by N.A.C. Rid NJ. Featuring a 4.75" barrel, bladed front sight and rear notched sight, manual safety, magazine heel clip, lanyard loop, and has black plastic grips. Comes with (1) Waffenamt marked magazine & (1) unmarked magazine, and soft shell holster.
The P38 technically replacing the Luger P08 side arm of the Wehrmacht for the Second World War in 1938. The war path of Nazi Germany needed a simplified side arm that was both cheaper and easier to manufacture. However switching production and machining to the new P38 proved to be challenging, resulting in the Luger P08 still being produced until 1943.
